Duration Brewing is a newly opened, fast-growing modern independent brewery in West Norfolk. We make quality-focused wild ales and fresh beers brewed from nature with purpose from a high-end custom-built brewhouse in a renovated ancient barn in rural West Acre. We make good beer in collaboration with good people in a way that respects where we are. Our beers are enjoyed by beer lovers in specialist bars, at home, and at festivals and events across the UK.

We are hiring for 3 roles to be filled this summer:

  • Lead Brewer 
  • Taproom / Retail Manager
  • Warehouse / Packaging Assistant

LEAD BREWER (NORFOLK)

Full-Time 40hrs/wk £25k-£27k

Deadline for application Friday 30th July at 5pm

Reporting directly to the Head Brewer and Production Manager this role encompasses all aspects of beer production.

On a daily basis, you will be required to manage wort production, cellar management, and packaging, primarily on our fresh lines but also occasionally in our barrel aging project on our fermata range.

This role has elements of manual handling so you will need to be physically fit. The position also often requires a level of autonomy to manage workload. You will also be required to work well with the rest of the brew team to ensure the brewery works effectively.

You will be joining a small, tight-knit team where a range of abilities is much sought after.

Minimum 2 years commercial brewing experience required. Formal qualifications while advantageous are not required.

TAPROOM / RETAIL MANAGER (NORFOLK)

Full-Time 40hrs/wk £22k-£24k

We are on the lookout for a Taproom and Retail Manager to oversee our direct-to-consumer sales across our brewery kiosk, webshop, and at our busy taproom (open 2 days a week).

A varied role, your time will be split between running Tap Days our newly launched Al Fresco Brewery experience that opens 2 days a week across summer, and assisting in the smooth running of our brewery kiosk and webshop.

A mixed role combining customer-facing front-of-house work, with some back-office work. With a flair for creating promotions and customer loyalty schemes, you will enjoy looking after our customers and managing a small hospitality team.

Across a 5 day working week as the main point of contact for our retail customers, you will spend time managing the taproom, ordering stock, managing rotas, setting up and launching products online, as well as serving the occasional mid-week walk-in.

We are looking for a self-motivated self-starter with a broad range of retail-based skill sets who is a real team player and able to get behind our values and culture. Able to hit the ground running and there to ensure all our guests and customers have an extraordinary visit whether in person or online. If you have a positive can-do attitude, a strong customer service mindset, and good admin and communication skills, this is a great role for you.

Role Description

  • General manager for our brewery kiosk, webshop, and taproom.
  • First point of contact for all webshop, taproom, and kiosk inquiries via email, phone, and in person.
  • Staff and till management, scheduling rotas, providing training, adding new products.
  • Bar Management and event coordination for in-house events at the brewery.
  • Updating the website and online shop with new product assets.
  • Stock control, ordering, and looking for new product lines and merch to offer our customers.
  • Sales Reporting and Data Entry.

Skills and Experience

  • A highly motivated self-starter able to work on their own initiative.
  • Good customer-facing and interpersonal skills, good presentation.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office, and the internet.
  • E-commerce experience preferable but not essential.
  • Good organization and time management skills.
  • 3yrs experience in a bar management position and the ability to prioritize well under pressure.
  • Full clean driving license.
  • An understanding of social media and photography helpful but not essential.

WAREHOUSE / PACKAGING ASSISTANT (NORFOLK)

Full-Time 40hrs/wk £22k-£24k

Reporting to the Production Manager this role will ensure orders go out and our beer is packaged to the highest standard.

A mixture of order picking and fulfillment, warehouse management, and beer packaging. Packaging will be primarily canning but also to include bottling, labeling, and kegging.

This role has elements of manual handling so you will need to be physically fit.

You will manage all the picking and packing of all web orders for direct-to-consumer shipments, as well as picking and packing all direct-to-trade and wholesale orders to leave the brewery via courier collection and palletized shipments.

Attention to detail and comprehensive computer skills are essential to effectively manage stock in the warehouse and print shipping and packing lists and avoid picking errors.

Due to our location, a full clean drivers license will be required as well as experience in similar roles. Forklift experience is also essential.

  • Building pallets for direct-to-trade orders

  • Cleaning the brewery
