Sophie De Ronde is head brewer at Burnt Mill, Suffolk and cofounder of Unite a growing movement encouraging wider representation of women in the brewing industry. Held on 8th March, to coincide with International Women’s Day, the international collaboration brew days are open to all women with an interest in beer making and are free to attend.

Our cofounder Miranda says

“Unite is about making space for more diversity in brewing and casting a wider net to strengthen our industry. Last year was a really welcoming event that grew my network with a community of women who, like me, shared passion for beer. It’s a chance to come together, network, learn and be practically involved in a brew. Seeing is believing and a long overdue revision is needed on how we define Brewer, Engineer, Scientist and Unite events strive to address that”.

This years theme for the brew day is Tribute and ours goes to Sophie all the women in beer out there dispelling the myth that beer has a gender bias.
