The beer world has been talking about terroir for decades though no one has arrived at a solid definition. There is one group of brewers though for whom its impact is inescapable: those who use wild yeasts and spontaneous fermentation to create beers with a sense of place.

Anthony Gladman talked to us along with 3 other ‘spon’ brewers Mark Trantner of Burning Sky, Jonny Mills of Mills Brewing and Brett Moore of London Beer Factory. We all share one thing in common – a passion and ‘maybe crazy’ romantic notion of what terroir in beer can truly mean.
