Sunday Times | UK’s 8 Best Brewery

21PT_Duration_Tap_Days_43

Pete Brown, The Sunday Times resident beer expert has picked out the UK’s top 8 brewery and the beers to try and we are pretty darn stoked to have made the list

Out of the country’s 1,600 breweries, these are the ones Pete Brown comes back to again and again

Honoured to see Duration in ‘bootiful’ Norfolk up there with these absolute fantastic breweries: Thornbridge in Bakewell, Anspach + Hobday in London, Bullhouse in Belfast, Burton Bridge + Heritage Brewinf in Burton on Trent, Utopian in Devon and Lost + Grounded in Bristol.

Here’s what Pete had to say about Duration…

NINTCHDBPICT001045255723

West Acre, Norfolk
This brewery, on a farm in west Norfolk, sits inside the ruins of a converted 10th-century barn. It has been here since 2019 but already feels like part of the landscape. The married couple Miranda Hudson and Bates (just Bates) are a perfect team. She’s the business head, the charismatic and tireless outward face. Bates brews and keeps his South Carolina drawl under his trucker’s cap, letting his beers do the talking: a shrewd combination of the kinds of lagers and pale ales that are popular in craft beer bars — barrel-aged, spontaneously fermented and drawing on local ingredients and inspiration.

Try: Turtles All the Way Down

5.5%, 440ml, £5.50
Tropical fruit and soft bitterness make this IPA as refreshing as it is flavourful.
